Marbella is the choice of the rich and famous. The resort is large and stylish, with around 28km of beaches. Towards the coast is the la alameda park where you can book a personal horse and carriage to see the sights in style or, if you prefer, stroll on towards the sea along the avenida del mar, a marble paseo maritimo, which is one of the most stylish promenades on the costas.

From Guadalalmina to Cabopino, the Marbella coastline stretches along some 26 kilometres of sunny beaches bathed by the warm Mediterranean and the 'golden mile' which has some of the most expensive real estate in Europe and benefits from extensive investment. Marbella has first class tennis, sailing and golf.

Marbella's marina is neither as famous nor as glamorous as it's better known sister, Puerto Banus, but the Marina Marbella area is the place to find fresh fish, with it's live fish market providing many of the restaurants in the area with their fish. The Paseo Maritimo borders the sandy beaches and stretches from Marbella right along to Puerto Banus.

Celebrities and dignities include the likes of King Fahd of Saudi Arabia and Sean Connery, Antonio Banderas (who originally came from Malaga). It's not surpassing then that it is often compared with the likes of Monaco.
