Property On The Costa del Sol - Marbella

Marbella's motto is 'A Way of Life' and, certainly, this luxurious resort town seems to have it all and is, once again, rising to the fore as a favourite location with the rich and famous, as well as more ordinary folk who are willing to pay just a little bit extra for southern Spain's answer to St Tropez.

Not too long ago, Marbella sharpened its image still more thanks to a considerable investment initiated by the town's colourful and controversial former mayor, Jesus Gil which resulted in a massive landscaping drive.

But Marbella has a down to earth side as well, an air of individuality which can be best appreciated by exploring back streets in the old part of town. One of the prettiest places is the fabled 'Orange Square' which is located just off the main street in the older district and is also home to the 16th century town hall and tourist office where you can pick up a detailed map and visitor information.

Your visit might very well inspire you to consider living in Marbella, if so click here for an introduction to the neighbourhoods that make this such a charming place to live.

Marbella is the choice of the rich and famous. The resort is large and stylish, with around 28km of beaches. Set against the stunning backdrop of the "La Concha" mountain Marbella is a mixture of old and new, with stylish apartments lining the seafront while typical Andalusian properties and villas are to be found along the picturesque alleys of Marbella's Old Town.

Not only a resort town but a fine city is the description for Marbella which lives up to its full potential as an international destination and home from home for many Europeans, thanks to the great Spanish winter weather and its privileged location Marbella is currently experiencing a substantial increase in tourism and property activity.

Marbella enjoys a strong infrastructure of security, cleanliness and local services that are found in few mainland Spanish cities.

A favourite area to visit is the beautiful Plaza de los Naranjos in the Old Quarter, meaning "Orange Plaza" it is especially beautiful when the orange blossoms are in bloom, and is also surrounded by restaurants and cafés making it a perfect place to unwind and watch the world go by.
Marbella's main boulevard has many stylish boutiques and shops, while the gardens at "Parque de la Alameda" make for a great place to sit and relax and are dedicated to the artist Salvador Dali with copies of his sculptures along it's length, leading down to the promenade. The "Parque de la Constitución's" own little amphitheatre is the venue for outdoor productions during the summer months.

Towards the coast is the la alameda park where you can book a personal horse and carriage to see the sights in style or, if you prefer, stroll on towards the sea along the avenida del mar, a marble paseo maritimo, which is one of the most stylish promenades on the costas.

From Guadalalmina to Cabopino, the Marbella coastline stretches along some 26 kilometres of sunny beaches bathed by the warm Mediterranean and the 'golden mile' which has some of the most expensive real estate in Europe and benefits from extensive investment. Bringing new of restaurants and leisure facilities etc.

Marbella has first class tennis, sailing and golf.

Marbella's marina is neither as famous nor as glamorous as it's better known sister, Puerto Banus, but the Marina Marbella area is the place to find fresh fish, with it's live fish market providing many of the restaurants in the area with their fish. The Paseo Maritimo borders the sandy beaches and stretches from Marbella right along to Puerto Banus.

Celebrities and dignities include the likes of King Fahd of Saudi Arabia and Sean Connery, Antonio Banderas (who originally came from Malaga). It's not surpassing then that it is often compared with the likes of Monaco.

There are many properties ranging from affordable apartments to villas and waterfront properties.
