PROPERTY IN THE CANARY ISLANDS

Property For Sale Tenerife, Canary Islands

Tenerife is a sub-tropical paradise that offers something for everyone. The island is 81 km long and 45 km wide and dominated by the now dormant volcano "Mount Teide", which at 12,000ft is the highest mountain in Spain. To the south, the ever popular resorts of Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos are basked in year round sunshine, whilst the north of the island is a lush green tropical paradise of banana plantations, palm trees and flowers.

There are many Golf courses in the south of Tenerife, probably the best being Golf Costa Adeje. Others include: Golf del Sur, Amarilla Golf, and Golf las Americas. You can also enjoy Dolphin and Whale watching trips off the coast of Tenerife.

Los Gigantes

Situated on the South West of the island the unassuming coastal town of Los Gigantes sits impressively underneath the 500m high cliffs that give the town it's name and along with the neighbouring fishing port of Puerto de Santiago and the quiet beach resort of Playa de La Arena the town of Los Gigantes has become established as the favourite villas, apartments and holiday homes.

Playa de Las Americas

Playa de Las Americas started life around 30 years ago as a handful of hotels around a man-made beach with sand imported from the Sahara. Since then, it's grown to be one of the largest holiday resorts in Europe once combined with the suburbs of San Eugenio, Fañabe, Torviscas and Costa Adeje.

The resort is full of huge shopping malls crammed with shops selling electrical appliances, beachwear, sports kit, leather goods and souvenirs. Some of the best include Parque Santiago, San Eugenio and Fañabé.

Los Cristianos

Los Cristianos is the quieter neighbour of Playa de las Americas and has a bit of history. Prior to undergoing major development and becoming a booming tourist resort, Los Cristianos was a small fishing village. It has an old town centre with Catholic church, stretching from the port up to the main shopping street Avenida de Suecia.

Golf del Sur

Since its 1987 inaugural event, a competition for professionals, the 27 greens and fairways of Golf del Sur have provided the black drop for various top international tournaments. In 1995, Golf del Sur hosted the Shell Wonderful World of Golf tournament had its head-to-head battle between Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson. This Tenerife golf course, design by Pepe Gancedo, is a thoroughly enjoyable layout in which one's attention is immediately caught by the black volcanic sand en the bunkers.

Callao Salvaje

Callao Salvaje is a village situated on the south west coast of Tenerife, between the bustling resort of Playa de las Americas and the more tranquil resort of Los Gigantes. Callao Salvaje offers a good selection of restaurants, bars, shops, car hire, bank etc, and is only a 20 minute drive away from the airport.

capital of Tenerife is the second most populated city of the Canary Islands with more than 200,000 inhabitants. Its present importance comes from the development of its port and its commercial calling which made it progressively absorb the civic centres of La Laguna until it reached the status of capital at the beginning of the last century.

Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, capital city is a city with large landscaped areas and the second most populated city on Tenerife, which manages to preserve the modernist architecture. Treelined avenues, parks and squares are ideal for strolling because the green of Santa Cruz complements its peacefulness and the sunny climate which it enjoys all year.
