Cannes is located in the south of France and best known for it's annual Film Festival and has become an chic city that is known world-wide with people from all over the world owning holiday homes here.

Le Suquet is the old town and named after the hill on which it gives great views of the miles of Cannes beaches. The summit contains the remains of the fortified priory lived in by Cannes' eleventh-century monks and the stunning twelfth-century chapelle Ste-Anne. To find non-paying beaches go to the west of Le Suquet, along the Plages du Midi and just east of the Palais des Festivals.

The quays at the end of La Croisette and the Vieux Port are where the Cannes jet set hang out eating their meals on the decks if their yachts.

There are more than 300 restaurants to eat out in Cannes catering for all tastes.

The rue d'Antibes is a fantastic shopping area which since recent renovation has become even greater with side streets being pedestrian only.

The rue Meynadier is particularly good for clothes shopping.


Î les de Lérins - short boat ride from Cannes, very scenic.

La Croisette - is the long boulevard along the seafront, with its palace hotels on one side and private beaches on the other

La Castre Museum - 12th century museum which used to be the castle belonging to the monks of Lérins as Saint Anne's Chapel.
Maritime Museum - is situated at Fort Sainte Marguerite, which was built in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Notre-Dame des Pins Church - designed by the architect Cavallin, its foundation stone has been laid in 1922. Architecture is of numerous style periods including baroque gothic.

Sainte Marguerite Island - a large forest which hold a rich past with the presence of Roman, Spanish and French heritage.

Villa Domergue - designed in 1936 by artist, Jean-Gabriel Domergue, in the Venetian style.

Villa Rothschild and gardens - a neo-gothic style villa and gardens built in the 19th Century. The gardens are typically Mediterranean and are an horticulturists dream to see.
